Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager

The Job

Union Works Brewery is a developing restaurant/brewery located in Humboldt that is striving to be a new hot spot in SE KS. We are looking for someone with the drive to help bring this exciting concept to life. Working as the Sous Chef you will be responsible for back and front-of-the-house operations for the food service departments. You will maintain a quality culinary program and process all financial reporting. Duties also include menu development, inventory, purchasing, labor and food cost controls, maintaining sanitation standards, and personnel management including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, and developing. You are a natural leader with previous supervisory experience as well as experience with high-volume cooking. You care deeply about good food and exceeding quality standards to create memorable dining experiences. You are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.

Duties

  • - Assist the head chef in planning and executing menu items
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Experience

  • Previous experience as a sous chef or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure

Compensation and Benefits

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: From $50,000.00 per year
